Role Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking a Civil Engineer — Land Development to join a Land Development team in Woodstock, MD. You will work on a range of projects including multi‑family and mixed‑use developments, apartment communities, industrial/distribution sites, residential neighborhood design, and public projects (schools, fire stations, parks). This is a full‑time role based in Woodstock, MD.
What You’ll Do
- Design portions of projects using office software and Civil 3D
- Complete engineering calculations and modeling to support design decisions
- Prepare specifications and materials research for construction documents
- Develop design details and plan sets for land development projects
- Produce summary reports and research deliverables to support projects
- Assist in estimating engineering and construction costs
- Perform field observation, inspection and data collection as directed
- Coordinate with clients and internal design teams
- Work under the direction of senior engineering staff and project managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field required
- EIT required
- 2–8 years of professional experience in land development civil engineering preferred; entry‑level applicants will be considered
- Experience preparing site plans (site layout, utilities, grading & drainage, erosion control, stormwater management) is a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary range: $77,000–$97,000 per year
- This position is eligible for straight‑time overtime
