Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - New Graduate
The Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) role at Confidential Client offers a new graduate the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in site design and stormwater management projects for government clients. Working under licensed Professional Engineers, the candidate will develop technical skills, contribute to project design phases, and build a foundation toward obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license in a supportive, employee-owned firm with flexible work options.

What You’ll Do
As a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) you will join project teams supporting site design and stormwater management efforts for local, state, and federal government clients. You’ll work under the guidance of licensed Professional Engineers and contribute across design phases while building experience toward a PE license.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design drawings
- Assist with site design, grading, drainage and stormwater management solutions
- Participate in field investigations and site assessments
- Perform research to support design decisions and compliance with standards
- Assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and preparation of construction documents
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams (structural, MEP, permitting, etc.)
- Support project coordination and client communications as directed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed by the start date
- Civil 3D experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in project teams
- Eligible to work in the United States and able to obtain a security clearance
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required; reasonable accommodations considered
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $78,000 - $102,000 per year
