Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join their civil engineering team supporting private and municipal projects in Arizona City, AZ. This is an entry-level / early-career role for candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and an active Engineer-in-Training certificate. You will work under general supervision to perform design tasks, prepare plans and estimates, support project teams, and participate in field activities.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare plan details and drawing outlines for defined portions of projects.
  • Calculate material quantities and prepare cost estimates for assigned tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical specifications.
  • Evaluate vendor bids and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Review and approve design drawings within defined limits.
  • Prepare technical reports and write sections of broader project documents.
  • Conduct or assist with field tests, site measurements, and data collection.
  • Provide proposal support and contribute to project scoping and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, project management, construction support).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate in any U.S. state.
  • Experience (academic, internship, or professional) with Civil 3D CAD software.
  • Exposure to civil engineering work on residential, commercial, municipal and/or park projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in-office (Arizona City, AZ) and on-site when required.

Preferred Skills & Tools

  • Civil 3D (AutoCAD Civil 3D) proficiency.
  • Familiarity with preparing construction documents and cost estimating.
  • Basic knowledge of municipal design standards and permitting processes.
  • Ability to participate in field data collection and construction support activities.
  • Comfortable working in team environments and supporting proposal development.
