Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Civil Engineer I to join their engineering team in Parsippany Troy Hills, NJ. This entry-level, full-time position supports land/site development projects and provides hands-on design, analysis, and coordination experience with growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.


Responsibilities

Confidential Client seeks a motivated early-career civil engineer who will:

  • Conceptualize and complete civil design tasks for assigned phases of land/site development projects.
  • Assist with development of plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Perform design calculations and checks using civil engineering software (e.g., Civil3D).
  • Provide technical assistance for design problem resolution, including field investigations and inspections when needed.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers, design teams, clients, agencies, and subcontractors on project issues.
  • Prepare development applications, submittals, narrative reports, and response letters.
  • Support stormwater and drainage design, including modeling and BMP design as required.
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and contribute as an effective member of project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of employment.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with internship, academic, or early professional experience in civil engineering or land/site development encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other civil engineering design software (AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS) preferred.
  • Experience with storm drain modeling, Rational Method hydrologic calculations, open channel/detention basin design, and HEC-RAS modeling is a plus.
  • Comfortable reading construction plans and preparing technical documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (reported): $69,949 - $87,436 per year.

  • Eligible candidates may be considered for remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on position and location.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily professional office environment with occasional field site visits requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds; occasional bending, squatting, or kneeling.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment and prolonged computer use.
