What You’ll Do
This role supports civil engineering work across project phases — from entry-level drafting and field data collection to licensed engineer responsibilities and project leadership. Typical responsibilities include:
- Produce precise engineering drawings and project plans using CAD tools (primary focus: AutoCAD)
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to ensure compliance with local codes and industry standards
- Draft technical specifications, comprehensive reports, and construction cost estimates
- Conduct on-site visits to collect field data and validate designs
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to align scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Participate in design review meetings and provide technical recommendations
- For senior-level positions: manage project budgets and schedules, oversee project lifecycles, and mentor junior staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum requirements to be considered:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Practical proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proven teamwork and client-facing professionalism
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail
- Available to attend an in-person interview at the Binghamton, NY office
Preferred Qualifications
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license — required for mid-to-senior level roles
- 5+ years of civil design or project management experience for lead positions
- Advanced experience with civil engineering modeling or surveying software
Level Expectations
- Entry-Level: Support design tasks, drafting, calculations, documentation, and field data collection.
- Licensed & Management: Lead project teams, supervise junior designers, manage budgets/schedules, mentor staff, and build client relationships.
