Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer Associate to join their multidisciplinary engineering team in Scott, LA. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want hands-on experience in engineering design, project support, and construction administration while preparing for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
What You’ll Do
- Provide general, entry-level support to the engineering department.
- Prepare construction cost estimates, schedules, reports, and project design calculations.
- Prepare design plans and specifications for assigned projects.
- Evaluate physical conditions at worksites to inform design plans and conduct damage assessments.
- Use CAD and other engineering/design software to develop design documents.
- Assist with construction administration and on-site observations during construction.
- Ensure compliance with company and client quality requirements.
- Support client communications and collaborate with project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field (engineering, science, mathematics).
- Must be willing to take and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam within three months of hire.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in the Scott, LA area as required.
- No prior professional experience required — recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with CAD and familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to learn project management and engineering software quickly.
Supervision & Work Environment
- This position works under general supervision and may occasionally direct the work of assistants, interns, or temporary staff.
- The role requires both office-based design work and periodic field visits to project sites in the region.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Scott, LA (on-site / client locations as assigned)
- Estimated salary (from source): $62,657 per year (estimated)
