Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Civil Designer to join a transportation and infrastructure team in Manhattan, NY. This role supports design and production work on roadway, drainage, grading, water/sewer, and land development projects under the guidance of senior engineers. This is a full-time, regular position with a mix of office-based work and occasional field visits.
What You’ll Do
- Work as part of a project team on small and large transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Assist in preparing drawings, exhibits, construction documents, plans, and reports.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and take direction from senior engineers.
- Prepare construction contract documents, change orders, and project proposals.
- Attend client, contractor, and stakeholder meetings as required.
- Conduct field work and site visits as directed.
- Use CAD and design software to produce and refine working drawings and exhibits.
- Monitor your work to meet schedule and quality expectations; take initiative to coordinate with other team members.
Skills & Tools
- Proficient in AutoCAD; AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Experience with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads is a plus.
- Strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Ability to interpret and create sketches, drawings, and technical details.
- Problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; co-op or internship experience preferred.
- Entry-level / early-career candidates are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range for NYC locations: $87,900 – $123,100 per year (salary reflects location and experience).
- This posting complies with applicable pay transparency laws for the listed locations.
