Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Civil Design Engineer to support electric transmission pole and tower civil design work in Fresno, CA. This hybrid role blends remote work with on-site work within the employer's service territory and contributes to foundation and structure design, construction drawings, and field reviews for transmission projects.
What You’ll Do
- Actively promote safe practices in accordance with corporate safety policy.
- Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, layouts and studies from field inspections, sketches, specifications, and instructions.
- Produce construction drawings using MicroStation and PLS CADD; perform structural analysis with tools such as SAP2000, PLS Tower, PLS POLE, and L-PILE.
- Review and check drawings, designs, and others’ work for accuracy and constructability.
- Participate in field reviews and coordinate project objectives with engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance stakeholders.
- Foster teamwork and innovation to improve processes and efficiency.
- Travel approximately 10% of the time.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or graduating with a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering by December 2026; OR equivalent combination of education and experience (six years total); OR four years total including two years at Confidential Client as a Design Drafter or Senior Design Drafter.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License by Day 1 of hire.
Desired
- Experience in structural engineering or transmission design.
- MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- EIT or PE license.
- Experience with PLS-TOWER.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time
- Work type: Hybrid (remote office + assigned work location within the client service territory)
- Collective bargaining: This position is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and is subject to collective bargaining.
- Hourly pay range (employer-provided, locality-specific): $46.94 to $78.14 per hour (actual pay will depend on experience, skills, credentials, geographic location, and collective bargaining agreement).
