Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Circuit Design Engineer Associate to join an engineering team focused on circuit card assembly (CCA) design, bring-up, and test. This full-time role is based in Cedar Hill, TX and is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career electrical engineers to gain hands-on experience in circuit design and laboratory testing. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in developing and reviewing circuit card schematics, interface definitions, and related design documentation.
- Support circuit simulation and analysis using tools such as Cadence PSpice, LTspice, or equivalents.
- Learn and apply schematic capture tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition Enterprise) for CCA design entry.
- Participate in circuit card bring-up, integration, and laboratory testing; collect and analyze performance data.
- Work cross-functionally with systems engineering, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure design integration.
- Support trade studies, design reviews, and the Design Assurance process.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including requirements packages, test procedures, and design reports.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited institution.
- Coursework or foundational knowledge in circuit design, electronics, and digital logic.
- Basic understanding of electronic components, schematic diagrams, and CCA concepts.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (PSpice, LTspice) or schematic-capture environments.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate theory into practical circuit solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication; experience collaborating on cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with PCB layout concepts and design-for-manufacturability principles.
- Experience with MATLAB or similar analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience from academic projects, internships, or labs involving electronic circuit design.
- Familiarity with military standards/specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of FPGA concepts and hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL) helpful.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM tools (e.g., Windchill) and electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer).
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-Time Salary Range: $67,000 - $124,400 (USD) — listed on the requisition.
