Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a part-time Child Behavioral Interventionist based in Fort Leavenworth, KS. This entry-level role supports children and teens with behavioral and mental health needs using trauma-informed approaches. Typical shifts are afternoons, evenings, and weekends. This position includes paid initial training and ongoing professional development.
What You’ll Do
As a Child Behavioral Interventionist you will:
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support to children and teens using trauma-informed practices.
- Implement individualized behavioral plans and use role-modeling, coaching, and redirection to promote emotional regulation and independence.
- Create and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities based on each child’s interests and goals.
- Support family routines and collaborate with caregivers to reinforce positive behaviors across home, school, and community settings.
- Work with clients 3–5 times per week; shifts are typically afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends.
- Complete required documentation and participate in regular supervision and training.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, education, or related field preferred.
- Experience with elevated behavioral needs is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to complete safe‑hold training and perform safety holds when necessary (paid training provided).
- Able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must have a smartphone and access to a laptop or computer for work tasks.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation; willing to commute up to 30 miles to client homes.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications (training provided or reimbursed as applicable).
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $21.65–$24.00 per hour (commensurate with education and experience).
- Paid initial and ongoing training.
