About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Chemistry Technician I to support Controlled Pore Glass (CPG) production used in oligonucleotide manufacturing. This hands-on production role follows validated procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent, high-quality solid support materials (amine/nucleoside functionalization, dye/quencher attachment) that enable downstream genomics workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Perform routine production tasks using established protocols and equipment to produce CPG across multiple pore sizes.
- Execute amine and nucleoside functionalization and attach proprietary dyes/quencher chemistries to solid support materials.
- Operate, clean, and maintain basic production equipment and tooling; report and escalate equipment issues.
- Record accurate real-time production data in physical and electronic batch records following good documentation practices.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials and supplies; replenish CPG product stock as assigned.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace and follow all PPE and safety procedures.
- Communicate with Solid Support leadership to coordinate equipment use and production priorities.
- Support continuous improvement and other duties as assigned to meet production and quality goals.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science with 0–2 years laboratory or manufacturing experience; OR 2–4 years relevant industry experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Entry-level understanding of laboratory, chemical, and general safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent with basic chemical calculations (molarity, density) and the metric system.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good computer and data-entry skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, web browsers).
- Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work well on a team.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, or similar) and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience in chemical or oligonucleotide manufacturing, or in a regulated laboratory/manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory/material control and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Participation in safety initiatives, 5S, or continuous improvement activities.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
- Pay range (California): $22.35 — $37.25 per hour. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and location.
- Work arrangement: On-site (production facility in Penngrove, CA).
- This position designation (Technician 1 vs. 2) is based on demonstrated competency and experience level.

- Location: Penngrove, CA — on-site at the Confidential Client production facility.
