Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a quality‑focused, entry-level Chemistry Sample Prep Technician to support the clinical chemistry laboratory on first shift in Saint Charles, IL. This hands-on role centers on preparing biological specimens, following standard operating procedures, and assisting with routine chemistry workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare, label, aliquot, and process biological specimens according to SOPs and safety guidelines
- Perform routine sample preparation tasks (pipetting, dilutions, conversions) with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of work performed
- Follow good laboratory practices for handling human specimens and biohazardous materials
- Operate basic lab equipment and assist with inventory and reagent preparation
- Communicate findings or issues to supervisory staff and contribute to a clean, compliant work environment
Qualifications
- Required: Associate’s degree in a clinical, laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or an accredited medical technology program
- Demonstrated ability to pipette accurately and perform basic laboratory procedures
- Comfortable handling human specimens and committed to laboratory safety practices
- Ability to perform scientific math (ratios, percentages, dilutions, conversions)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend scientific documents
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Previous microscope experience preferred
- Color vision is required
- Reliable attendance and flexibility in scheduling
Shift & Compensation
- Schedule: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Pay: $21.00 – $26.00 per hour
