Confidential Client is seeking a QC / Formulation Chemist to support a growing R&D and quality team focused on specialty coatings and advanced materials. This contract role provides hands-on exposure to formulation development, analytical testing, quality investigations, and manufacturing support in a modern laboratory setting.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct quality control and performance testing on specialty coatings and related materials
• Perform wet chemistry analyses, titrations, and physical property testing
• Execute ASTM and other industry-standard test methods
• Support formulation development and optimization projects
• Conduct corrosion, weathering, humidity, and salt spray testing
• Investigate customer complaints through testing and root cause analysis
• Assist with product scale-up and manufacturing support activities
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation
• Interpret test results and communicate findings clearly to technical teams
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and technical service groups

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
• Laboratory testing experience via industry work, internships, co-ops, or academic research
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques
• Hands-on experience with wet chemistry and titration methods
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced technical environment

Preferred

• Experience with coatings, paints, adhesives, sealants, polymers, or specialty chemicals
• Direct formulation experience
• Quality Control or Quality Assurance laboratory experience
• Familiarity with ASTM testing methods
• Experience with corrosion, humidity, weathering, or durability testing
• Manufacturing or scale-up support experience

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour (range provided by Confidential Client)
• Actual pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
