Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Chemical Process Engineer (Process Engineer) to join their engineering team supporting local clients and virtual project teams. This role supports projects from early-phase design through construction and commissioning, developing PFDs, P&IDs, performing process calculations, selecting equipment, and creating specifications.


What You’ll Do

  • Support development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Complete process calculations and equipment selection/specifications during early design phases.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete project tasks on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist in preparing bid packages, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Perform or support field work, construction monitoring, and commissioning activities.
  • Review vendor documentation and accept/reject major materials or equipment based on quality and specification compliance.
  • Lead or contribute to engineering studies, technical reports, and engineering calculations.
  • Draft and interpret designs into working drawings; check work for application of sound engineering practices.
  • Supervise or coordinate designers on parts of projects when required.
  • Receive guidance on assignments with progressive responsibility and exercise growing professional judgment.
  • Travel as needed to client or project sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited program (qualifies for licensure in the state of practice) — required.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with little or no practical experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and equipment sizing/specification.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
  • Willingness to perform field work and travel to project sites as required.
  • Commitment to learning and applying industry codes and standard engineering methods.
  • Proficiency with common engineering tools/software is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (depending on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications).

Location & Work Arrangements

  • Location: Paradise Valley, AZ (must be able to work on-site as required and support virtual project teams).
  • Position is Full Time; travel to client/project sites may be required.
