Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Chemical Process Engineer in Bluff Springs, TX. The Chemical Process Engineer will support local clients and virtually support project teams in other locations. You’ll work on projects from inception through construction—developing PFDs, P&IDs, performing process calculations, selecting equipment and writing specifications, and supporting construction and commissioning.
What You’ll Do
- Perform or assist with development of PFDs and P&IDs and prepare clear, accurate process documentation
- Execute basic process calculations and sizing for equipment and piping
- Evaluate and specify equipment, support procurement, and prepare bid packages
- Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete project tasks on schedule
- Support field activities as needed and review manufacturer documentation and construction quality
- Lead or contribute to engineering studies, write reports, and develop engineering calculations
- Draft working drawings and interpret designs into constructible deliverables
- Apply standard engineering methods to small projects or portions of larger projects under supervision
- Communicate progress and review work with supervisors to ensure sound engineering practices
- Travel as needed to client or project sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (degree must qualify for licensure in the state of practice)
- EIT certification preferred (suitable for candidates with little or no practical experience)
- Strong academic foundation in process engineering fundamentals (PFD/P&ID interpretation, mass/energy balances)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in multi-discipline teams
- Willingness to travel and perform field work when required
- Professional attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safe engineering practices
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (depends on location, education, experience, and certifications)
