What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Industrial / Chemical Hygienist to support occupational health, safety, and mission-support activities at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center facilities. You will perform hands-on industrial hygiene work, provide technical recommendations, and help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Conduct industrial hygiene audits and field assessments in laboratories, shops, test areas, and support facilities
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments for chemical, biological, and physical agents
  • Review chemical, material, and equipment purchases to anticipate health hazards and recommend controls
  • Conduct asbestos and lead paint assessments and sampling (bulk sampling, air monitoring, documentation)
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial hygiene sampling equipment
  • Conduct indoor air quality evaluations and perform noise surveys and personal noise dosimetry
  • Support the respiratory protection program (fit testing, user training)
  • Develop and deliver employee safety and health training
  • Respond to employee health and safety concerns and perform ergonomic assessments
  • Document findings using Microsoft Office and industrial-hygiene data management tools
  • Evaluate and certify local exhaust ventilation systems, including fume hoods and extractors

What You’ll Bring (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, science, engineering, or a related technical discipline (entry-level candidates with strong technical background may be considered)
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience with industrial hygiene sampling, exposure assessments, noise surveys, respiratory protection, ergonomics, indoor air quality, asbestos sampling, or confined space evaluations
  • Experience working in laboratory, research, aerospace, manufacturing, government, or technical facility environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and common computer applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to shifting workloads, and work with minimal oversight
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene data management systems

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience supporting federal or aerospace sites (e.g., NASA)
  • Certifications or training in industrial hygiene, asbestos/lead sampling, or respiratory protection programs
  • Experience evaluating local exhaust ventilation and fume hood performance

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base salary: $108,811 per year (estimated)
  • Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity
  • Benefits vary by client and role; details will be provided during the recruitment process
