What We Offer

Confidential Client in Hopedale, IL seeks a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to deliver sports medicine services to local student-athletes and support clinical care as needed. This role blends event coverage (games, practices, tournaments) with clinical duties serving as a physician extender in outpatient settings.

  • Competitive pay: $27–$30 per hour
  • $2 per hour evening differential (after 6 p.m.)

What You’ll Do

  • Provide athletic training coverage for local high school athletic programs (games, practices, tournaments, events).
  • Evaluate, assess, and treat athletic injuries; communicate findings and recommendations to physicians, coaches, athletic directors, athletes, and families.
  • Develop and implement injury-prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and conditioning programs.
  • Help determine and communicate return-to-play recommendations in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians.
  • Monitor athletes during recovery and ensure adherence to treatment and rehab plans.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, injuries, and rehabilitation activities.
  • Educate student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, and staff on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and safety.
  • Coordinate coverage and services with athletic directors and coaching staff.
  • Support outreach, educational presentations, coaches’ clinics, and community sports medicine initiatives.
  • Serve as a Physician Extender in outpatient clinics when assigned: conduct assessments, present findings to physicians, and assist with patient care within scope of practice.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, HIPAA, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree or entry-level Master’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
  • Current Illinois Athletic Trainer license or eligibility to obtain Illinois licensure.

Work Schedule

This role requires flexibility to meet athletic schedules and may include evenings, weekends, home athletic events, practices, tournaments, and other scheduled activities.
