Role Overview
Confidential Client (Healthcare & Nursing) is hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer in Highlands Ranch, CO. The Certified Athletic Trainer supports orthopedic and sports medicine providers by assessing and treating patients, preparing clinic workflows, and completing required documentation. This is a full-time, onsite role focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
What You’ll Do
- Escort patients to/from exam rooms, take vital signs, and document medical history, symptoms, and exam findings.
- Perform special tests and assist providers with examinations as appropriate.
- Deliver patient education, call in pharmacy refills, arrange follow-up tests or admissions at the provider’s direction.
- Complete forms, referrals, and obtain insurance authorizations for equipment and supplies.
- Prepare clinic charts and materials prior to visits: gather special study reports and physical therapy progress notes; scan into the EHR as needed.
- Review and scrub clinic schedules at least 48 hours in advance to correct scheduling errors and contact patients for confirmations or additional information.
- Assist with clinic workflow and provider support tasks (casting, bracing, phlebotomy coordination, surgical assist support where applicable).
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and escalate clinical concerns to providers.
Minimum Qualifications
Hiring will be considered across levels (Entry, Intermediate, Senior). Applicants must meet the baseline requirements for the level they apply to.
- Entry Level: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience).
- Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree plus 2–4 years’ experience in an orthopedic/sports medicine setting providing direct patient care OR completion of a recognized Athletic Training (AT) residency program.
- Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years’ experience in an orthopedic/sports medicine setting providing direct patient care.
- Certification by and in good standing with the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
- Licensure to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Colorado.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Prior experience working directly with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians and interprofessional teams.
- Advanced Casting Technician, National Phlebotomy Certification, Orthopedic Tech Certification, or Surgical Assist experience.
- Completion of an Athletic Training Residency program.
- Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills.
- Experience with Epic, Kronos, and HealthStream.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is posted by hiring level and reflects Confidential Client’s hiring ranges (good-faith estimate):
- Entry Level: $51,000 - $61,200 per year
- Intermediate Level: $54,825 - $65,790 per year
- Senior Level: $58,650 - $71,846 per year

Final pay offers will depend on experience and level.
