What You’ll Do

Under routine supervision, you will work with external third parties to market, source, solicit, and screen prospective independent carriers. The role focuses on ensuring carriers meet minimum contracting conditions, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and building external capacity.

  • Assist with gathering required documents and data from carriers to expedite the onboarding process.
  • Track and manage leads for new carriers to grow external capacity.
  • Meet or exceed departmental goals for outbound calls, financial returns, and capacity growth.
  • Explain the carrier approval process and maintain accurate status in the qualification/outsource capacity database.
  • Evaluate insurance and safety requirements (including DOT standards) through prescribed qualification processes, using carrier-management tools such as Safersys and working with internal safety partners.
  • Create and deliver marketing materials and sales presentations that communicate the value of partnering with our network.
  • Build and maintain relationships via cold-calling, email, and online databases; negotiate relationships with larger carrier partners to create and sustain a pipeline.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience (sales, recruiting, or related roles preferred).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Marketing, or Communications.
  • 1–2 years of direct sales experience or recruiting experience.
  • Experience in the transportation industry or carrier sales/recruiting.
  • Familiarity with carrier qualification tools and processes (e.g., Safersys).

  • This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $54,717 per year (estimated). Actual starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications.
  • Position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes per company plans.
  • Benefits for full-time employees may include: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation and sick), paid parental leave, and paid holidays.
