The Career Navigator is responsible for managing a caseload of program participants, conducting intakes and assessments, and developing comprehensive career plans to support participants in achieving employment goals. This role involves coaching, coordinating job shadows and internships, and providing ongoing guidance to help individuals gain targeted career opportunities within a supportive team environment at Confidential Client.

About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking a full-time Career Navigator to join their Social work team in Hiawatha, IA. This role supports program participants through individualized career planning, assessments, and connections to training and employment opportunities. The Career Navigator will manage an assigned caseload and work closely with partners to help participants reach measurable employment goals.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as program and case manager for an assigned caseload of participants.
- Conduct intakes, complete assessments, and maintain required documentation.
- Develop individualized career plans and recommend training, job-shadowing, internships, or other supports.
- Administer interest and skill-based assessments and interpret results with participants.
- Provide ongoing coaching, job search assistance, and placement support to help participants secure employment.
- Coordinate with community partners, employers, and internal teams to create opportunities for participants.
- Track participant progress, report outcomes, and maintain confidentiality in records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, human resources, social work, or a related field is required OR six years of related experience may be substituted.
- Minimum one year of relevant employment experience required (a relevant Master’s degree may substitute for the year of experience).
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of required auto insurance.
- Must pass motor vehicle record screening, dependent adult and child abuse checks, and criminal background checks.
- Strong communication, coaching, and documentation skills.
- Experience administering assessments, case management, workforce development, or job coaching preferred.
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting wage: $20.26 per hour (range posted: $20.26–$22.29/hr).
- Employment type: Full Time (40 hours per week).
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; occasional flexibility may be required.

Location
This position is based in Hiawatha, IA. Local travel and use of a personal vehicle for participant outreach may be required.
