Career Consultant OPEN RANK
The Career Consultant at Confidential Client provides comprehensive career advising and professional development support to undergraduate and graduate Business School students and alumni. This role serves as a liaison among students, faculty, employer partners, and university services to facilitate networking, career readiness, and employment opportunities. The position operates in a hybrid work environment and requires strong communication, relationship-building, and event participation skills to connect students with career resources and employers effectively.

What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring a Career Consultant (Open Rank) to support Business School students and alumni with career development and employer engagement. Responsibilities vary by professional level (Entry, Intermediate, Senior, Principal). Typical responsibilities include:
- Meet one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students and alumni to provide career coaching on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interviewing, networking, job search strategy, and industry targeting.
- Serve as a liaison between students, school departments, university career services, experiential learning partners, and strategic employer partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty, student organizations, alumni groups, and employers to create pipelines for internships and jobs.
- Plan and deliver career workshops, employer information sessions, career fairs, and recruiting events.
- Ensure employers receive qualified candidates and that students understand current labor market expectations in business fields.
- Use Applicant Tracking Systems and job boards to manage employer postings, candidate referrals, and outreach.
- Track outcomes and report metrics related to student engagement and employer partnerships.
- Scale responsibilities and leadership based on level of appointment (more program ownership and strategic initiatives at Senior/Principal levels).
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications at time of hire. Qualifications increase by level:
- Entry Level
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, social sciences, communications, finance, library science, or a directly related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Intermediate Level
- Bachelor’s degree (as above) plus 1 year of related professional experience.
- Senior Level
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related professional experience.
- Principal Level
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of related professional experience.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or terminal degree in Counseling, Business, Higher Education, or a directly related field.
- Experience with corporate, third-party, or international recruiting and hiring processes.
- Hands-on experience advising students on resumes, LinkedIn optimization, interviewing, job/industry targeting, and networking.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and major job board platforms.
- Experience building employer relationships and pipelines for business-focused roles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation and meeting facilitation abilities.
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills with students, faculty, alumni, and employers.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in advising and outreach.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social/professional networking platforms (LinkedIn).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends for events.
Work Location & Schedule
- This role is primarily structured as a hybrid position based in the Denver metro area. The Confidential Client expects a mix of virtual and on-campus work; candidates must be able to attend on-campus meetings, employer events, and career fairs as needed.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required depending on event schedules.
Compensation & Benefits
The Confidential Client provides a benefits package in addition to base salary. The hiring ranges below represent the organization’s good-faith estimate for each level:
- Entry Level: $51,483 – $56,903 per year
- Intermediate Level: $53,922 – $59,598 per year
- Senior Level: $63,295 – $69,958 per year
- Principal Level: $73,363 – $81,085 per year
Final salary will be determined based on experience, education, internal equity, and other factors.
