Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Career Advisor to provide high-quality in-person and virtual career advising and development services for undergraduate, graduate, and alumni populations. This position supports program planning and event implementation, student career development, employer and alumni engagement, and collaborates with campus partners to deliver mission-aligned career services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group career advising for undergraduate, graduate, and alumni populations
  • Plan, develop, and deliver workshops, classes, and presentations (in-person and virtual) on resume writing, interviewing, networking, job/internship searches, and graduate school preparation
  • Design and run purposeful programs and events tailored to diverse student groups and class sizes
  • Partner with academic departments and student-facing offices (e.g., International Students, Cultural Engagement, Residence Life, Disability Support Services) to build integrated programming
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers and alumni to support recruitment, internship, and employment opportunities
  • Support use and administration of career assessments and tools (e.g., Focus2, STRONG, MBTI where certification is available)
  • Track student engagement and outcomes using institutional systems (Office of Institutional Research, EAB advising system, campus job boards, LinkedIn)
  • Contribute to marketing and advising resources (web pages, social media, print materials) that promote career services
  • Stay current on best practices and advances in career development and higher-education advising

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1–2 years of career-related experience in higher education (graduate work or relevant internship experience accepted)
  • Strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills for both in-person and virtual settings
  • Familiarity with career counseling principles and developmental advising
  • Experience with employer outreach and relationship-building
  • Comfortable using career platforms and advising/analytics tools (EAB, LinkedIn, campus posting systems)
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational skills, and ability to work as part of a team

Compensation

  • Projected salary range: $50,000 to $57,000 annually (represents the full range of anticipated compensation)
