Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Career Advisor I. This is an entry-level, full-time (40 hours/week) position delivering career services in a local career center environment. The role focuses on assisting job seekers and employers by providing employment services, job development, career guidance, and connections to supportive services. This position includes state benefits and participates in workforce development programs.

  • Recruitment range: $35,596 - $55,619 per year
  • Estimated midpoint: $51,532 per year (estimated)
  • Employment type: Full time

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver employment services and job training to job seekers.
  • Conduct interviews, assessments, and eligibility reviews (including RESEA where applicable).
  • Provide career guidance, referrals, and job placement support.
  • Collect job orders and develop relationships with employers to identify hiring needs.
  • Enter and maintain accurate customer and job data in program databases.
  • Share labor market information and supportive-service options with customers.
  • Cross-train across Career Center services and collaborate with workforce partners in an Integrated Services Delivery environment.
  • Participate in planning, promoting, reviewing, and evaluating local service delivery efforts.
  • Travel between career centers within the local prosperity zone as needed.

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

You may qualify through education or experience (or a combination) as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution with related experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work; OR
  • Associate degree plus two years of experience in the fields listed above; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Workplace, Travel & Onboarding Notes

  • This role is based in a local office in North Carolina with possible travel between career centers in the local prosperity zone.
  • Work performed under direct supervision of the local Division Manager.
  • The position may require National and International background checks and/or fingerprinting as required by law.
