What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Capacity Procurement Representative based in Town, NJ. In this role you will source and secure carrier capacity, tender loads using the Carrier360 platform, and manage freight in transit to meet customer expectations while protecting margin.

  • Negotiate rates with carriers to meet load requirements and margin objectives
  • Market and onboard carriers to expand and maintain a reliable carrier base using the Carrier360 platform
  • Tender loads, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor carrier updates to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
  • Serve as the primary liaison between carriers and internal stakeholders to resolve service issues quickly
  • Proactively communicate service failures and partner with operational teams to reduce cost and delays
  • Verify carrier credentials and tracking information prior to pickup to protect freight integrity and safety
  • Stay current on market trends and use that insight to inform negotiation strategy and carrier selection
  • Support continuous improvement and automation efforts to increase efficiency of freight placement

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, with up to 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience — OR equivalent demonstrated skills via education, certifications, or military service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external collaboration
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with carriers and internal teams
  • Experience delivering strong customer service and following through on commitments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing directives, and work under pressure
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts (including nights/weekends) if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (and up to 1 year of related experience)
  • Prior experience using carrier management platforms (experience with Carrier360 is a plus)

Compensation & Benefits

  • The expected starting pay range for this position is between $46,000 - $57,500.
  • Factors that may affect starting pay include skills, education, experience, and geography. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives per company plans.
  • Benefits for full-time employees may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off, parental leave, and paid holidays — subject to eligibility and plan terms.
