Capacity Procurement Representative
The Capacity Procurement Representative at Confidential Client is responsible for negotiating carrier rates to meet load and margin goals while managing freight movement and ensuring timely delivery. This role involves leveraging the Carrier360 platform to optimize freight efficiency, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver best-in-class service within a dynamic supply chain environment.

What You’ll Do
Under routine supervision, the Capacity Procurement Representative is responsible for negotiating rates to meet load expectations while protecting margins and ensuring on-time freight movement. You will market and use the carrier management platform (Carrier360) to increase efficiency and shipment visibility, build and maintain a carrier base, and deliver excellent service execution.
- Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive purchase rates that meet revenue and profit margin goals
- Act as liaison between internal stakeholders (operations, customer support, sales) and carriers
- Manage freight in transit by obtaining carrier updates and ensuring on-time pickup and delivery
- Tender loads and maintain accurate shipment and customer records using the Carrier360 platform
- Proactively communicate service issues to internal teams to minimize costs and operational disruption
- Promote best-in-class service and safety through partnerships with internal teams
- Verify carrier authenticity and tracking information prior to scheduled pickups
- Monitor market and supply chain trends to optimize negotiation strategies
- Provide urgent, clear transportation updates aligned with customer service expectations
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Up to 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience — OR demonstrated equivalent skills via education, certifications, or other experiences
- Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with carriers and internal teams
- Customer-service orientation with a track record of delivering on commitments
- High accuracy in processing information and sound judgment in decision-making
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt to shifting directives in a dynamic environment
- Experience holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience (transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience)
- Internship experience with the employer or other logistics organizations (preferred, not required)

Compensation
- Estimated salary: $62,967 per year (estimated)
- Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications
- This role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volume in accordance with the confidential client’s bonus and incentive plans
