What You’ll Do

The Capacity Procurement Representative is responsible for securing timely, cost-effective carrier capacity while protecting margin and delivering excellent service. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Negotiate carrier purchase rates to meet revenue and profit margin objectives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
  • Manage freight in transit by obtaining carrier updates and ensuring on-time pickup and delivery.
  • Use the Carrier360 platform to tender loads and maintain accurate shipment and customer records.
  • Proactively communicate service failures to internal support teams to reduce operational impact.
  • Partner with internal teams to promote best-in-class service and safety practices.
  • Leverage Carrier360 and automation to increase efficiency across the carrier base.
  • Verify carrier authenticity and tracking prior to scheduled pickups.
  • Monitor market and supply chain trends to inform negotiation tactics.
  • Respond quickly to customer service needs and provide timely transportation updates.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Up to 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience — OR equivalent demonstration of required skills through education or other experience.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer and carrier relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze information accurately and make sound decisions.
  • Comfortable managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and conduct difficult conversations when necessary.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Up to 1 year of related industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Carrier360 or similar freight/transportation platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation will vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications.
  • This role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives in accordance with applicable bonus/incentive plans.
  • Typical benefits for full-time positions include: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid time off (vacation and sick), parental leave (per policy), and paid holidays. Eligibility is subject to plan terms and employer policies.
