Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Capacity Procurement Coordinator (Night shift) to secure carrier capacity, manage in-transit freight updates, and negotiate rates that meet revenue and margin goals. This role operates in a fast-paced logistics environment and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work a night schedule while coordinating both internal teams and external carriers.

What You’ll Do

• Negotiate rates and contract terms with carriers to meet load expectations and profitability targets.
• Tender loads and manage carrier responses using carrier management tools (e.g., Carrier 360).
• Monitor freight in transit, obtain ETAs, and provide timely location/status updates to customers and internal teams.
• Trace shipments and troubleshoot service exceptions; escalate service failures proactively to minimize impact.
• Perform clerical tasks: process documentation, enter and maintain data, and organize records.
• Validate and issue fuel advances when proper driver documentation is provided.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time-sensitive conditions to meet customer and carrier expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Ability to work the assigned night schedule (Monday–Friday, 3pm–12am) and occasional weekend/overnight variations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accurate data processing.
• Ability to learn and use new software systems quickly.

Preferred:

• 1–2 years of related experience (sales, call center, customer experience, or logistics).
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/logistics, business administration, or related field.
• Experience with carrier negotiation, freight tracing, or transportation procurement systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated salary: $59,862 per year (estimated). Actual starting pay may vary based on skills, experience, education, and geography.
• This role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives tied to profitability or volumes.
