Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a career-minded, technically capable Calibration Technician I – Electronics to perform in-house and onsite calibration of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. This role applies measurement science, electronics, and math to ensure measurement accuracy across Electrical (DC/Low Frequency) and Time & Frequency disciplines. The position requires local/regional travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex calibrations in the laboratory (approx. 20%) and at client facilities (approx. 80%)
- Read and interpret equipment specifications and tolerances
- Execute calibrations per written procedures and maintain required documentation
- Use calibration spreadsheets and lab software to record data and results
- Maintain calibration quality—target ≤2% QC error rate on completed work orders
- Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing, and annual lab assessments
- Perform assigned maintenance on lab equipment and workstations
- Support customer requests and respond professionally to inquiries
- Maintain clean, organized lab and vehicle workspaces
- Pursue ongoing technical proficiency via self-study and internal training
- Be willing to learn to write and submit calibration procedures as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years minimum experience calibrating electronic test equipment (or equivalent)
- Strong math aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel emphasis), and common Internet applications
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local/regional onsite locations
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted from ground to bench level
- Strong customer-service, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems (ISO 9000 and/or ISO/IEC 17025) is preferred
- Military electronics experience or Associate/Bachelor degree in electronics is a plus
- May be required to pass a job-related skills assessment

- Oscilloscopes, frequency counters, oscillators
- Function generators, LCR meters, megger testers
- High-voltage testers, power supplies
- Temperature devices, pyrometers, furnaces/freezers
- Chart recorders, decade resistor sets, tachometers
- Volt-ohm meters and other test/measurement instruments
Physical & Work Environment
- Bench work and mobility across lab and client sites
- Some onsite client facilities may involve heat, cold, or loud environments
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing/eye protection and steel-toe footwear may be required at certain sites
- Regular use of email, phone, and messaging tools for communication with clients and internal teams
- Travel may include extended drive times; company vehicles may be provided by the client

- Technician progression is encouraged. Typical levels: Associate Calibration Technician → Calibration Technician I → Calibration Technician II → Calibration Technician III
