What You’ll Do
Join a confidential client engineering team in Livonia, MI, working on entry-level CAE NVH & Durability problems across automotive, aerospace, defense, and entertainment products. You will build and run Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models, post-process results, validate outcomes with hand calculations, and deliver engineering recommendations that influence early-stage product design.
Responsibilities
- Build NVH and durability FEA models using commercial solvers (e.g., Nastran, Abaqus, OptiStruct, ANSYS).
- Run linear, non-linear, and dynamic simulations; post-process results and summarize technical findings.
- Prepare clear, data-backed reports and presentations for engineering and customer meetings.
- Automate repetitive workflows using Python (or other scripting) to increase team efficiency.
- Learn new CAE tools and techniques quickly and apply fundamentals of mechanics to analysis tasks.
- Follow company data-management and documentation practices for analysis files.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in Finite Element Analysis, Strength of Materials, mechanical behavior of metals/plastics/composites, and Noise & Vibration.
- Hands-on understanding of FEA fundamentals and validation via hand calculations and free-body diagrams.
- Knowledge of mechanical and automotive systems with interest in NVH and structural durability.
- Strong attention to detail and clear verbal/written technical communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn simulation best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with FEA/NVH coursework.
- Familiarity with fatigue simulation and experimental validation tools (nCode, test-data correlation).
- Experience with pre-/post-processors (Altair HyperWorks, ANSA, META) and solver workflows.
- Scripting or automation experience (Python preferred; Excel VBA or C acceptable).
- U.S. Citizenship (preferred for ITAR-regulated work).

Location & Work Authorization
