Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a C++ Software Engineer to help build and maintain a global electronic trading platform. You will design, implement, and support high-performance, low-latency components used by institutional trading clients. This role is based in Chicago, IL and reports to the trading platform engineering team.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with engineers, traders, and product specialists to design and deliver reliable, scalable trading software
- Contribute to system design, implementation, and code reviews
- Develop and enhance C++ components within the primary trading system and supporting services
- Troubleshoot and improve system stability and performance in production environments
- Participate across the software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Continuously learn and share knowledge with teammates
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Professional or substantial project experience with C++
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Exposure to multi-threaded or concurrent programming concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a desire to grow technical and industry knowledge
- Clear communicator with both technical peers and business stakeholders

- Base compensation range: $100,000 - $140,000 (approx., contingent on experience)
