Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Buyer I - Supply Chain to support procurement activities for Healthcare & Nursing operations in English Village, AL. This is a full-time, daytime position focused on requisition processing, vendor communication, order tracking and supporting contracting/value analysis under general supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Review, process, and/or approve requisitions and payment requests to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure orders are placed, processed and acknowledged by vendors using system tools and other resources; identify and resolve order placement or confirmation issues.
- Communicate with vendors and internal partners to resolve pricing discrepancies, back orders, product discontinuations, and delivery issues.
- Verify order delivery and coordinate with end users and Materials Management (MM) or related departments.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve vendor matching, duplicate shipments or invoice issues.
- Serve as a customer-service point of contact (answer telephone and email inquiries; respond to end-user requests).
- Suggest process improvements and operational efficiencies to increase departmental productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Procurement or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Ability to work on-site in English Village, AL (this role is not listed as remote).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
Preferred / Helpful Experience
- Purchasing or procurement experience in healthcare or a related field.
- Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems, requisition and purchase order workflows.
- Vendor management, basic contract awareness, and accounts-payable coordination experience.
- Strong customer-service, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $62,045 per year — estimated figure provided by the source.
