What You’ll Do

The Buyer I is an entry-level procurement role that supports daily purchasing operations to keep production and operations running smoothly. You will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to create and track purchase orders, manage deliveries, and help maintain accurate purchasing data.

  • Create and process purchase orders (POs) for materials, components, and services.
  • Track order confirmations, delivery dates, and shipment status to ensure on-time receipt.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve routine issues (delays, price discrepancies, documentation).
  • Maintain supplier contact and performance records in the ERP/MRP system.
  • Assist with quote requests and comparison of supplier pricing to support cost-savings.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment to prevent stockouts.
  • Prepare basic purchasing reports (open POs, delivery performance, material status).
  • Follow purchasing policies, approval workflows, and support audit requests.
  • Participate in process-improvement activities to streamline procurement tasks.

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (internships/co-ops welcome).
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (QAD, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, etc.) is a plus.

Work Location & Schedule

This role is on-site in Newburgh Heights, OH (local to the Cleveland area). Normal business hours; some flexibility may be required to coordinate with suppliers or production needs.


Compensation & Benefits

Estimated pay: $52,577 per year (estimated). Our Confidential Client offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package — details will be provided during hiring conversations.
