What You’ll Do

This Buyer role in Cerritos, CA supports purchasing and procurement activities for a confidential client in aerospace/defense manufacturing. You will support day-to-day sourcing, RFQ execution, and supplier coordination to keep production on schedule and inventory optimized.

• Manage supplier forecasts using qualitative and quantitative methods to support customer service and inventory objectives.
• Execute RFQs and support bidding for new projects; prepare purchase orders and related documentation.
• Track forecasts, evaluate supplier risks and opportunities, and identify continuous improvement opportunities in purchasing processes.
• Coordinate selection, ordering, and expediting of materials/services for production per engineering specifications; drive improvements in price, quality, delivery and lead times.
• Complete daily purchasing system tasks (commodity/buyer codes, exception messages, order acknowledgments), process returns to suppliers (RMAs) and resolve procurement issues within 24–48 hours.
• Collaborate with plant operations, engineering, and quality teams to communicate delivery schedule updates and support AS9100-related purchasing documentation.

What’s Needed

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, or related field; 0–2 years related experience typical for Buyer I / entry-level roles.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; SAP experience is preferred.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour.
• Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.
• Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Location: Onsite in Cerritos, CA (must be able to work from the facility).
