What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking Business Valuation Consulting Associates to support valuation engagements across middle-market clients. Typical responsibilities include:

• Gathering financial data and company information through direct interactions with client personnel and internal audit/tax teams
• Performing in‑depth client, industry, market, and competitor research
• Building financial models (discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses)
• Performing financial analysis and applying valuation methodologies
• Preparing business valuation and litigation‑support reports, including economic, industry, and company analyses
• Assisting with purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, intellectual property valuations, and employee stock option valuations
• Supporting debt and equity valuations for investment analysis, capital budgeting, M&A, financial reporting, gift/estate tax, and litigation
• Developing proposal materials and presentations for current and prospective clients

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (finance concentration preferred) from an accredited university
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
• Strong analytical skills and a natural aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
• Ability to articulate, write, and present information clearly
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally
• Interest in middle‑market companies and partnering with assurance, tax, and other consulting teams
• Desire to learn and grow professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint required)
• Understanding of financial concepts (NPV, DCF, WACC, etc.)
• Experience building financial models or prior valuation/financial analysis exposure
• Self‑starter able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and drive to exceed client expectations

Compensation & Location

• Location: New York City, NY (on‑site / client locations as required)
• Employment type: Full‑time
• Compensation range: $70,400 - $84,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; final pay depends on experience, skills, education, and location)
