What You’ll Do

Our confidential client’s Emerging Insurance Professionals Program hires entry-level team members to help the agency deliver excellent service while learning the insurance business. As a Business Support Specialist you will:

  • Access and navigate carrier portals to obtain policy documents, order loss runs, and research billing inquiries
  • Issue, print, and mail certificates of insurance
  • Update client records in the agency management system and document daily activities
  • Assist Account Managers with renewal steps and basic policy checks
  • Scan, copy, collate, and manage documents
  • Create and format letters and business communications using common office tools
  • Participate in internal and carrier training; pursue professional development activities
  • Review, update and help improve processes and workflows for efficiency and client experience
  • Support assigned projects and perform other duties as needed while maintaining data confidentiality

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong candidate if you demonstrate:

  • Strong client-service orientation and professional communication (verbal and written)
  • Ability to make independent decisions and research solutions when issues arise
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills
  • Comfort learning and using agency systems, carrier websites, and MS Office
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to shift priorities and take on new responsibilities or projects
  • A team-first attitude and strong work ethic with resilience to overcome hurdles
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and maintaining industry knowledge

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of client-facing or customer-service experience
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience following documented procedures and workflows
  • Prior experience working on teams and building positive working relationships
  • Previous insurance agency or carrier experience is a plus but not required

Working Conditions & Compensation

  • Location: Glastonbury, CT (on-site office environment with significant phone and in-person interactions)
  • Work style: Fast-paced office; frequent computer use and phone interactions

  • Estimated salary: $51,871 per year (estimated)
