What You’ll Do
This role supports growth by strengthening existing client relationships and building new business opportunities for a Confidential Client in the construction and steel fabrication space. You will work under the Director of Business Development to research prospects, initiate outreach, and move qualified leads through the early stages of the sales process.
- Identify and qualify new leads through research, cold outreach (calls & emails), networking, and referrals.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects and track activity in the CRM.
- Support client relationship expansion by understanding client needs and coordinating introductions to leadership or operations.
- Assist with proposal development, market research, and opportunity assessment to help convert qualified prospects.
- Provide timely pipeline updates and insights to leadership on emerging opportunities and trends.
- Represent the Confidential Client professionally at industry events, trade shows, and client sites.
- Coordinate closely with operations, marketing, and leadership to align outreach and service offerings.
Who You Are
You’re driven, relationship-focused, and eager to learn business development fundamentals in a field-based sales environment.
- 0–5 years of professional experience (internships and entry-level sales or customer-facing roles are relevant).
- Comfortable initiating conversations with new contacts and maintaining follow-up cadence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present clearly to small and large groups.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while escalating appropriately.
- Basic understanding of sales fundamentals: lead generation, qualification, and relationship building.
- Familiarity with CRM tools or the ability to learn sales systems quickly.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and sound judgment representing the company externally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in sales, marketing, communications, or construction-related fields.
- Experience with customer-facing roles (retail, hospitality, service, call center).
- Exposure to proposal support, market research, or client outreach.
- Knowledge of construction, design-build, or steel fabrication is a plus.
Working Conditions & Schedule
- Full-time role with a mix of office-based and field-based work.
- Approximately 40–75% of time spent outside the office (client visits, job sites, events).
- Standard workday typically 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with flexibility required for events and networking outside normal hours.
- Local and regional travel required; frequent walking at client sites and facilities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $58,731 per year (estimated).
