Position Overview

This is a contract Business Data Analyst role supporting digital delivery and AI initiatives for a Confidential Client in the Health and Human Services industry. You will combine systems analysis with hands-on scripting, automation, and AI integration to accelerate engineering-related software services such as model ingestion, automated quantity extraction, plan conformance checks, and CI/CD automation. The role is hybrid based in Austin, TX with an expected start date of 2026-10-01 and an estimated end date of 2027-09-30.


What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with business units to understand operational procedures, data requirements, and reporting needs.
  • Analyze user requirements, workflows, and system specifications for new or modified applications.
  • Document user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify software.
  • Perform feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
  • Identify automation opportunities and help rapidly prototype solutions.
  • Develop scripts and prototypes to automate processes and integrate AI-driven features.
  • Evaluate system capabilities and constraints for alignment with organizational standards.
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment of new solutions in a rapid development environment.
  • Confer with stakeholders to analyze current procedures, identify problems, and define input/output requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with business units to capture operational procedures, data requirements, and reporting needs.
  • Minimum 1 year experience documenting user requirements, workflows, and system specifications.
  • Minimum 1 year experience performing feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing scripts and prototypes for automation and AI integration.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting testing and validation of solutions in rapid development environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for requirements documentation and stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML fundamentals and applying pre-built models or APIs.
  • Proficiency with Python for data processing and automation.
  • Experience with Bash scripting for system-level automation.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization (Docker).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline concepts.
  • Knowledge of API development and data integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and rapid prototyping tools.

Work Arrangement

  • Location: Hybrid — Austin, TX (Confidential Client office).
  • On-site requirement: Minimum 4 days per week in office.
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (excluding state holidays). Occasional evenings/weekends may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Term: Contract (start 10/01/2026; end 09/30/2027; estimated 2,080 hours). Contract may be renewed for up to two additional one-year periods.
