What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Business Banking Relationship Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of small- to mid-sized business clients in Cloverdale, TN. This role focuses on relationship building, business development, loan packaging, and cross-selling banking products to meet client financial needs.
- Make retention and business development calls to existing and prospective customers
- Build and maintain a prospect list and sales pipeline
- Develop new small-business relationships through targeted outreach and networking
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate loan products and banking services
- Determine optimal loan structures and prepare packages for underwriting and approval
- Verify loan documentation for accuracy and coordinate/attend loan closings
- Identify cross-sell opportunities (deposits, treasury, credit, wealth and other services)
- Develop sales plans, close deals, and maintain a high close rate
- Act as a financial advisor—educate clients on financial strategies (credit, cash flow, investments, market trends) and align solutions to client goals
- Monitor client portfolios and market trends to spot new opportunities and risks
- Collaborate with internal teams (credit, underwriting, operations, wealth) to deliver seamless client service
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in commercial or small-business banking, lending, or relationship management
- Knowledge of loan structuring, underwriting basics, and commercial credit documentation
- Track record of business development and meeting sales targets
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client advisory skills
- Ability to manage a client portfolio and maintain accurate pipeline records
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to compliance and documentation
