About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Bridge Design Engineering Associate based in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for early-career engineers on the Professional Engineer (PE) license track who want hands-on bridge and roadway design experience, mentorship, and exposure to project delivery across public infrastructure projects.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and review bridge and plan design computations, drawings, and deliverables.
  • Support submittals and coordinate project submissions with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Draft specifications, technical letters, and written engineering reports.
  • Complete inspections and field work as required.
  • Research and apply codes, standards, and permit requirements to design tasks.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.
  • Develop technically accurate, clean, and constructible drawings.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes to minimize design errors.
  • Work within assigned budgets and timelines.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline (civil/structural preferred).
  • No prior full-time professional experience required; internships in architecture/engineering or related experience preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or strongly encouraged.

Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads, or InRoads (surfaces and templates) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $56,849 per year (estimated). Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
