Role Overview

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Bridge Design Engineering Associate to join their engineering team. This role is ideal for early-career civil/structural engineers on the Professional Engineer licensure track (EIT preferred). You will apply engineering fundamentals to prepare design computations, technical reports, and plan sets for bridge and related infrastructure projects. The position supports project delivery while following quality control and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and detailed drawings for bridge projects.
• Reviews subcontractor/consultant submittals and coordinates project submissions.
• Prepares specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
• Performs inspections and field work assignments as required.
• Researches, interprets, and applies relevant codes, standards, and permit requirements to design tasks.
• Maintains accurate documentation and project records.
• Produces technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
• Supports quality assurance and quality control processes to reduce errors and omissions.
• Performs assigned work within project budgets and schedules.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• No prior professional experience required; internships or co-op experience in A/E or bridge design preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or actively pursuing licensure.

Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Experience or familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads, InRoads (surfaces and templates) or similar design platforms preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated desire to expand technical knowledge and take on increasing responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated annual salary: $49,330 (estimated).
• Confidential Client offers competitive benefits, paid training for licensure, bonus opportunities, flexible work environment, and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) where applicable. Final compensation and benefits will be determined by the hiring organization and in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
