What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Branch Claims Representative to join their claims team. This entry-level role handles insurance claims under close supervision through the full life-cycle of a claim — investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution — while delivering timely service to agents, insureds, and other stakeholders. This role emphasizes structured training, professional development, and the opportunity to grow into specialized adjuster roles.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level property/casualty claims
  • Learn company claim handling procedures, policy language, endorsements, and forms
  • Build negotiation and settlement skills for routine claims
  • Communicate professionally with claimants, agents, legal counsel, and third parties
  • Develop estimating skills and use designated loss‑adjustment software
  • Pursue and maintain adjuster license(s) if required by state statute or company timeline

Responsibilities

  • Handle assigned claims from intake to closure under supervision
  • Document claim activity, compose correspondence, and write clear, concise reports
  • Use company systems and tools to estimate loss and calculate reserves
  • Escalate complex matters to senior adjusters or managers appropriately
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive claimant and policyholder data
  • Participate in ongoing training and complete the company’s claims training program

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in property/casualty claims handling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize data, prioritize tasks, and make independent decisions within guidelines
  • Comfort with basic geometry (area/volume), arithmetic accuracy, and reviewing financial documents
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and stakeholders
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record consistent with company underwriting requirements (when driving is required)
  • Willingness to study for and obtain adjuster license(s), as required

  • Estimated pay: $88,475 per year (estimated)

Location & Work Model

Location: West Indianapolis, IN. This role starts with in-person training; after successful completion and per business needs, a merit-based hybrid/work-from-home schedule may be available as defined by leadership.
