Overview

This onsite, full-time Biomedical Technician I role supports clinical and research operations by maintaining, calibrating, and repairing medical, surgical, and research equipment. This is an entry-level role suitable for recent graduates or candidates with an Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering and/or equivalent experience.


Responsibilities

You will work under direct supervision as part of a clinical engineering team to ensure equipment is safe, accurate, and compliant with manufacturer specifications.

  • Receive, assemble, and inspect new medical, surgical, and research equipment
  • Verify equipment readiness and compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and inspections to support safe operation
  • Troubleshoot electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Inspect, repair, and modify equipment as required
  • Conduct and document performance assurance and testing; analyze results and take corrective action
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and modification records per standard operating procedures
  • Communicate with clinical and research staff to resolve equipment-related issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned and maintain required onsite presence

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering — OR equivalent years of technical experience in lieu of degree on a 1:1 basis
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronic Engineering

Experience & Skills

  • Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting interest
  • Effective verbal and written communication and customer-service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Participation in engineering/professional student organizations preferred (e.g., BMES or similar)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $57,500 — $86,500 per year (approximately $27.64 — $41.59 per hour)
  • FLSA: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
