Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) in Norcross, GA. This entry-level BMET will assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance of biomedical and laboratory equipment. The role includes on-the-job mentoring from senior technicians and vendor-provided training.


Key responsibilities

  • Perform assigned departmental duties supporting biomedical/laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, safety testing, and recording functional test data.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Operate equipment following established protocols and quality control limits.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform computer data entry and maintain correspondence, reports, and records.
  • Participate in continuing education, vendor trainings, and team meetings.
  • Work closely with laboratory services, support staff, and external service providers.
  • Manage parts inventory and support timely resolution of equipment downtime.
  • Follow all safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or related field preferred. Master’s degree highly desirable.
  • BMET certification is a plus.
  • Minimum: 1 year experience as a Biomedical Engineering Technician/BMET.
  • Experience with parts inventory management.
  • Experience supporting equipment and operations in regulated environments (pharmaceutical, biologics, medical device, clinical diagnostics, or medical technology) preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude, respect for coworkers and management, and ability to work under supervision.

  • Location: Onsite — Norcross, GA (worksite).
  • Employment type: Full-time, permanent.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range: $53,040 — $60,320 per year (range provided by Confidential Client).
