Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join their onsite lab support team in Lilburn, GA. This role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance of biomedical and laboratory equipment. The position includes hands-on training, vendor-led instruction, and collaboration with laboratory staff to ensure safe, compliant equipment operation.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of biomedical and laboratory equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety testing, and record functional test data per SOPs.
  • Operate and test equipment within established protocols and quality-control limits.
  • Evaluate reports, identify unusual problems, and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Maintain parts inventory and assist with parts ordering and tracking.
  • Complete computer data entry for work orders, test records, and service reports.
  • Attend vendor and internal training to expand technical skills.
  • Work closely with laboratory services and support staff to minimize downtime.
  • Follow safety, regulatory, and quality requirements (SOPs, QC, compliance).

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Biomedical Engineering Technician (BMET) or similar role.
  • Experience with parts inventory management.
  • Experience supporting equipment in a regulated setting (pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, clinical diagnostics) and familiarity with quality/compliance practices.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work under supervision as part of a technical team.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management or related field.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • BMET certification or other relevant certifications.
  • Prior experience with vendor-managed maintenance and advanced vendor training.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $53,040 — $60,320 per year (range provided by the employer). Individual compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

  • Employment type: Full-time, permanent, fully onsite.

  • Workplace: Onsite in Lilburn, GA (this position supports a laboratory in the local area).
