What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to provide hands-on support for biomedical and laboratory equipment in a regulated laboratory environment. This is an entry-level, full-time role based in Lilburn, GA with structured training, vendor-led education, and clear career progression.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, safety testing, and equipment inspections
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving equipment faults in a timely manner
  • Support calibration and maintenance activities to keep laboratory operations on schedule
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, calibration records, and reports
  • Follow SOPs, quality policies, and applicable regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, cGMP, OSHA)
  • Participate in vendor training and continuing education programs
  • Enter and maintain equipment records and work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and senior biomedical technicians to support daily operations

Qualifications (Required)

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) or equivalent hands-on role
  • Experience with parts inventory management and basic stock control
  • Experience supporting equipment in regulated environments (pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical device, diagnostics)
  • Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio a plus
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • BMET certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Experience with calibration equipment and laboratory testing instrumentation
  • Environmental monitoring/control equipment experience
  • Prior exposure to FDA, ISO, cGMP, or OSHA-regulated processes
