Biomedical Equipment Technician 1
The Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, repairing, and performing planned maintenance on basic biomedical equipment at customer sites. This on-site role requires strong technical and communication skills to ensure equipment safety, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction. The technician works under supervision, supports team service delivery, and may participate in on-call rotations to address critical issues.

Position Overview
The confidential client is hiring a Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 to respond to service calls, evaluate and diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs and planned maintenance (PM), and help maintain strong customer satisfaction across accounts in the Dublin, GA area. This is an on-site, first-shift role. Relocation assistance is available.
Compensation
- Estimated pay: $75,636 per year
What You’ll Do
- Under supervision, evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
- Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections on basic biomedical devices.
- Assist more experienced technicians on complex repairs as needed.
- Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure timely resolution and excellent service.
- Follow client policies, procedures and hospital protocols; complete required documentation.
- Document repair actions and submit reports/summaries on schedule.
- Maintain and care for spares, tools, and test equipment; ensure calibration is current.
- Use manuals, technical support, and online resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation once trained and assigned.
- Work as part of a local team to deliver efficient field service within the assigned territory.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in a formal Biomed/FE Services internship/externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED plus 2+ years’ experience servicing electrical/electronic/IT or mechanical equipment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
- Ability to meet client-required background checks and a post-offer drug screen.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The confidential client will not sponsor employment visas for this opening.
- Willingness to comply with customer access requirements (which may include immunizations, additional background checks, or federal background checks for certain contracts).
Physical Requirements & Schedule
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted.
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, sitting and standing for long periods.
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; good hand/finger dexterity; specific vision abilities (color, close/distance, peripheral, depth perception).
- Willingness to be available after hours or participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary.
