What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level BIM Project Engineer for a 9–12 month development role based in Atlanta, GA. This position is designed to provide hands-on exposure to preconstruction, virtual construction, fabrication workflows, field installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Support detailing of mechanical systems (ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing)
  • Coordinate trade and subcontractor work using BIM workflows
  • Assist with project estimating and takeoffs
  • Interact with suppliers, vendors, and fabrication shops
  • Participate on-site with installation crews to learn field processes and sequencing
  • Support virtual construction and clash coordination (Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Fabrication)
  • Build strong working relationships with PMs, foremen, engineers, and other stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in BIM Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management; OR
  • Equivalent business/management degree with 1–2 years of project management experience overseeing technicians working with mechanical systems; OR
  • If no degree, a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with plumbing, piping, or HVAC systems in office or field roles
  • Comfortable in Windows environments with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, email, web-enabled applications, and databases
  • Willingness to work both in the office and on active construction sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the construction industry, preferably mechanical contracting
  • ~2 years managing mechanical work or projects
  • Experience with Autodesk Fabrication, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Exposure to account management and client-facing responsibilities
  • Leadership training or participation in conferences/workshops

  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to adapt to shifting project demands
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize drafting and coordination work
  • Solid reasoning, math, and technical fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance and to take on additional responsibilities
  • High work ethic, project ownership, and professional conduct under pressure

Working Conditions & Physical Effort

  • Work performed in both normal office environments and on active construction project sites
  • Limited exposure to physical risks; some on-site walking, climbing, and occasional lifting consistent with construction site activity

Compensation (Estimated)

  • Estimated pay: $64,061 per year (estimated)
