What You’ll Do
As a BIM Engineer supporting a Confidential Client in the Engineering industry, you will work as an entry-level VDC resource to support model management, VDC initiatives, and 3D coordination between design, engineering, specialty trades, and operations. You will receive on-site training and contribute to model preparation, reality-capture workflows, quality processes, and project information management.
- Participate in on-site training and VDC onboarding
- Build working knowledge of reality capture and data management (laser scanning, sUAS/photogrammetry, LiDAR)
- Support development and implementation of VDC project execution plans
- Assist in management and coordination of architectural, MEP/TF, structural, civil, specialty and site model components
- Establish project alignment for 3D coordination and integration with primary control plans
- Use project information management systems for transmittals, deliveries and quality logging
- Prepare models for lift drawings, model-based layout, AR/VR and integration with laser scans
- Support modeling of self-perform scopes from construction documents, submittals, RFIs and shop drawings
- Help create model content for visualization and construction from design through build
- Participate in jobsite safety initiatives and reporting processes
Who We’re Looking For
We seek a detail-oriented, collaborative early-career BIM/VDC professional who is eager to learn and grow in a construction or design environment. You should be comfortable working across teams (design, field, and trades), communicating clearly, and applying digital tools to support coordination and construction workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering
- Proficiency with Autodesk tools—specifically AutoCAD and Revit
- Exposure to BIM/VDC tools such as Navisworks, Synchro, SketchUp or similar suites
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as needed
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of basic field layout principles and VDC/BIM concepts
- Strong personal organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in the building or design industry
Physical Requirements
This role is light work: exerting up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Typical activities include walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, typing, and operating office equipment. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions may occur during site activities.
