What You’ll Do

This outside sales role focuses on building and growing foodservice and restaurant accounts in an assigned territory around Savannah, GA. You will help customers succeed by offering product solutions, training, and ongoing support while meeting sales and profit targets.

  • Develop new business and grow existing customer relationships within your assigned territory.
  • Sell a mix of foodservice products and services tailored to customer needs.
  • Provide product information, practical training, and menu suggestions to customers and their staff.
  • Manage customer orders, troubleshoot issues (stock, special orders, delivery problems), and coordinate with operations teams.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to customer accounts, industry events, and company meetings (travel up to ~25%).
  • Maintain accurate sales records, prepare quotes and reports, and participate in sales meetings and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new accounts following account-stratification goals.
  • Penetrate existing accounts to increase share-of-wallet and minimize lost business.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products to help customers reach their business goals.
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and usage.
  • Communicate with credit and operations teams to resolve billing or delivery issues.
  • Support company promotions, customer events, and team selling efforts.
  • Review sales and margin reports; prepare sales budgets and territory plans.
  • Mentor and assist in training new sales team members when requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B/outside sales experience, or comparable experience (including completion of relevant sales internship).
  • Proven outside sales or territory sales experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working non-traditional hours when customer needs require (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish or other relevant language) strongly preferred.
  • Background in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or culinary/chef experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success selling to restaurants, caterers, or other foodservice operators.

Requirements & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the client’s insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance that meets required limits.
  • Ability to pass employment testing and background checks as required.
  • Willingness to sign client protective covenants agreement.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong sales ability, persuasion, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual skills preferred.
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to manage territory and workload independently.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay (algorithmic estimate): $58,802 per year — provided for comparison only.
  • Competitive base salary plus bonus and promotional incentives.
