What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Sales Consultant to develop new business, grow existing accounts, and help customers succeed. This role focuses on territory-based relationship selling in the foodservice/restaurant channels with an emphasis on consultative, value-based selling. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred.
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within an assigned territory
- Seek and qualify prospects according to account stratification goals
- Research customer needs and recommend product and service mixes that align with their business goals
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; recommend product ideas and merchandising solutions to customers
- Provide product information and hands-on training to customer staff
- Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and use
- Drive to customer accounts, conventions, and company meetings; manage territory travel efficiently
- Communicate with credit/operations teams to resolve billing or delivery issues and collect receivables as required
- Manage order and delivery exceptions (out-of-stock, special orders, low inventory) and coordinate with operations teams to resolve
- Participate in promotions, customer events, and trade shows
- Prepare sales budgets, quotes, menu suggestions, and routine administrative reports
- Attend and engage in sales training and district meetings
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field
OR HSD/GED plus 3 years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience (or equivalent), including completion of a relevant sales internship - Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish); restaurant management, foodservice outside sales or chef experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
- Current automobile insurance meeting minimum limits: Bodily injury - $100,000 each person / $300,000 each accident; Property damage - $100,000
- Ability to read, write and speak English (and Spanish if bilingual preference)
- Basic PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office

- Estimated base pay: $59,882 per year (estimated)

Requirements & Conditions
- Must pass employment testing and any background checks required by the client
- Must sign the Confidential Client’s Protective Covenants Agreement (if applicable)
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic vicinity of the assigned territory
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (applicants currently authorized to work in the U.S. will be considered)
- Maintain current automobile insurance and a driver record that meets insurability standards
